I had to explain the idea of condensation to them; it's so simple that no one had thought of using it in that manner. The hunters quickly thought up a [canvas] sheet covering a hole and a receptacle for water. While it's not as efficient as [magic], anyone can do it, so I believe it will supplement our other measures quite well. After this I need to poke Jedditor about giving more details on the [System]. I don't think he understands that giving information can be a good thing. It's like he has an instinct for secrecy. As Research Director, I find it frankly astonishing. I guess I haven't given much information either, but I've got a lot on my mind! And we have that too. But our science has yielded insights into many areas. What we call [magic] is a specific type of energy that can be shaped by [sentient?] minds. Maybe you call it something else, I don't know. It's used a lot in our society and I don't think we could survive without it. Certainly not in this [expletive] desert! The real problem is that to manipulate energy you need energy. A [mage]'s life force provides some, but...we don't have any sources of energy here and it's making it hard to do anything. I am curious as to how many Suns are effecting you during the day? We have one, but if you have more then youre far worse off than we thought. Then again, it could be a blessing in disguise, if you have te resources to harness the solar energy. Also, another source of energy could come from the wind. I would Imagine it could get pretty windy, before, during, and after a sand storm. Windmills are excellent ways to harness the energy provided by wind. Hopefully these suggestions help you, and allow your mages to take some weight off of their shoulders. Now, I believe you asked us what was the closest we have to your mages, here on Earth. I would have to say those would probably be called Pychics. Seeing as though we Humans can only use about 10 percent of our brains, there are a small portion of us that are able to tap into an unknown area of the brain, causing them to see things that they havent seen with their own eyes. Occasionally, they are called upon to solve a murder that has gone cold. Other times they are asked to contact a deceased love one, on the other side, meaning they can communicate with the spirit realm. They refer to their power as a gift. I personally believe, after hearing about your mages, that we may be just a step behind you in the evolutionary ladder. These pychics could possibly be an early evolutionary stage of your mages.
