Alvuryin Ekkatran - The desert, part 2
There are a little more than seven hundred of us in this enclave. None of us have ever really visited a desert, though we knew they existed in theory. If we had ended up in a forest, or even a savannah, I'm sure the hunters would be right at home...
Help? - by Kender at Sun, 21 Oct 07 14:14:41 -0400 We were given to understand that Jedditor thought you wanted help and that he asked the system for help. Now we are here to help, so the system seems to work. What is unclear to us though, is what kind of help it is that you want. Could you explain your situation and problems in some more detail so that we may figure out some way to provide the requested help? Introductions are in order. - by Smoothwun at Mon, 22 Oct 07 02:26:14 -0400 Well before we can help we need to know what to call each other. We obviously know your name, Alvyurin. My name is Michael. Im not as experienced in this technical system language that Jedditor is talking about, but I do have a question for you, that no one has thought to ask. Seeing as though the reason you are in this desert is because of an "Exile", could you possibly give us a brief explanation as to what this "Exile" is? All we know is what the query results led us to. The message: "We are the Exiles. Time after time have we fled danger and persecution to find another world upon which to settle." This message appears to come from an Exile. Did you know of this? Or am I being slow and dont realize that YOU guys are the Exiles...? Another question I have for you is, what exactly is the "Lions Den"? Thank you Alvyurin. I look forward to helping you guys in any way I can. Michael (Sm00thwun) ... - by Alvyurin Ekkatran at Mon, 22 Oct 07 03:34:42 -0400
Michael, huh? Curious...I guess people in different societies really do have other names.
Regarding the Lions Den - by <anonymous> at Mon, 22 Oct 07 22:33:22 -0400 In reference to the Lions Den, the message that Kender decoded went as follows... Enjoying the stories huh? We thought you'd have figured it all out by now and found the message in the hexagons But hey, one way or another we'll get you working for us Signed: Your friends in the lion's den. If Jedditor wrote the Exiles Query that we found, then he most likely wrote this one too. Im interested in knowing where your civilization is located right now. We do not have mages here on Earth. We have scientists. We are currently in the age of technology, where most peoples beliefs lie more in machines than in magic. People who do believe in supernatural forces are considered strange, and non-conforming by our mainstream society. It would be interesting to see how we would interact with each other, if we were ever faced with such a situation. Enough about us though, you are the ones who need the help. So, how fares the moisture gathering? I hope all is well. We are working on a puzzle your query spit back at us. Using the query PUZZLE brought us to a picture, or many pictures actually. 14 in all. These pictures are outlined by many numbers. 104 to be exact. But as for the pictures, there appears to be a 9 by 9 grid that resembles the MAGIC SHELL GAME that your query also led us to, along with the books Jedditor has translated for us. You wouldnt happen to know anything about this puzzle, would you? Any info you had would be helpful at this point. We're sort of stumped. I look forward to hearing from you again, um, may I call you Alvy? Well as I said before, I hope all is well. Until we speak again, Michael ... - by Alvyurin Ekkatran at Tue, 23 Oct 07 03:15:44 -0400
I would prefer Alvyurin, thanks, Michaela.
Energy - by vidstudent at Tue, 23 Oct 07 15:28:46 -0400 If you're looking for a source of energy, try that heat beating down on you. I'm not sure what you have technology-wise for harnessing solar energy, but it's readily available in a desert so long as sandstorms aren't persistent. What kind of desert? - by onceuponanever at Tue, 23 Oct 07 16:27:27 -0400 Alvuryin, could you explain to us a little more what sort of desert you're in? Sandy, rocky, mountainous, etc. It might give us more ideas on how to help you. -Alex How many Suns? - by Michael (Smoothwun) at Tue, 23 Oct 07 20:32:19 -0400 The Sun is definately a good source of energy Alvyurin. I am curious as to how many Suns are effecting you during the day? We have one, but if you have more then youre far worse off than we thought. Then again, it could be a blessing in disguise, if you have te resources to harness the solar energy. Also, another source of energy could come from the wind. I would Imagine it could get pretty windy, before, during, and after a sand storm. Windmills are excellent ways to harness the energy provided by wind. Hopefully these suggestions help you, and allow your mages to take some weight off of their shoulders. Now, I believe you asked us what was the closest we have to your mages, here on Earth. I would have to say those would probably be called Pychics. Seeing as though we Humans can only use about 10 percent of our brains, there are a small portion of us that are able to tap into an unknown area of the brain, causing them to see things that they havent seen with their own eyes. Occasionally, they are called upon to solve a murder that has gone cold. Other times they are asked to contact a deceased love one, on the other side, meaning they can communicate with the spirit realm. They refer to their power as a gift. I personally believe, after hearing about your mages, that we may be just a step behind you in the evolutionary ladder. These pychics could possibly be an early evolutionary stage of your mages. No way to be certain at this point, though. Oh, and Alvyurin - something has been shown to us recently and I have to ask you... do you know of something called CHAOSEED? or maybe its CHAOS SEED? Also, I wanted to ask you if you also knew what MYSQL is. Thank you for your time and I hope everything goes well in constructing the solar panels and/or windmill. Michael. ... - by Jedditor Lebbisun at Wed, 24 Oct 07 03:08:33 -0400
i know the system is connected to a lot of [devices] in your world. i think the mysql and the chaoseed are part of those. thats so far out of what i know about that i cant do anything about it though.

ssc - by Jedditor Lebbisun at Tue, 06 Nov 07 23:56:29 -0500 i wanted to tell you guys but alvyurin said it wasnt a good idea. i guess...well i really dont want to unless she gives permission. she thinks its all our problem and shouldnt be your problem but youve already gotten involved in our problems...hm hm hm... ... - by <anonymous> at Sun, 11 Nov 07 16:11:19 -0500 It seems even more important now for you to tell us what you know about the ssc, the lion, and the lion's den. It may give us a vital clue in solving this riddle hmmm - by Jedditor Lebbisun at Sun, 11 Nov 07 20:29:38 -0500 they seem pretty sincere, alvyurin...hmmmmmmmm... ... - by Alvyurin Ekkatran at Mon, 12 Nov 07 04:03:32 -0500 Fine, I don't [expletive] care, do whatever you want.
