Jedditor Lebbisun - updates

i fixed a bug in the cmprotocol interface for the blogs. you may have noticed the number of replies was more than it should have been.

i wrote most of the code interfacing with the system. the funny thing is i didnt write it all. alvyurin could have written some. i showed her some of how it works and shes definitely smart enough if she wants to learn it. as a matter of fact lots of us look at the system terminals and try them out. some of them could have written some of the text.

maybe it was written by whoever built the system in the first place.

maybe the system wrote it.

Jedditor, you should know that doesn't really help.

What we need are ideas. Jedditor and the System tell me that yours is a world of ideas. And that's certainly the easiest thing to exchange with you. Vidsudent's idea for using condensation has already helped us enormously. Now we're trying to find more sources of energy. So we can do something like growing crops instead of eating all our food stores...

Do you mean that you are seeing code appear that you can't trace? How complicated is the system? Could it write itself?

interesting question. very interesting. is it even possible for a mind to write itself? is that how minds first came about? i dont know. regardless, while the system isnt a true intelligent mind, i believe parts of it wrote other parts. i also believe that my prodding it with questions has nudged it along the path of mental development and spurred more writing.

Could a mind write itself? Some philosophers would say yes. Jean Paul Sartre and other existentialist philosophers believed that we define ourselves and, in doing so, define our own realities. That if I, for example, choose to be an educated and ethical human being, I can work towards that goal and ultimately make it a reality. This is sort of like writing one's self, I suppose. Other philosophers, like determinists, would say that any kind of self creation is impossible: that our identities are dependent upon our environments and biologies, and that reality is the result of nothing more than cause and effect. Hypothetically speaking, a computer programed to amass information would continue doing so until it ran out of electricity or broke down from age, right? And if that computer was also programed to find increasingly effective ways of communicating the information it found, it would become ever more linguistically adept. Not sure where I'm going with this, but it makes me want to know more about the System's conception, location, interface, etc.

Jedditor, we've tried... so far we've found it responds to 'creators' and 'creation', but I don't think it trusts us yet... we get an error: INCOMINGSYSTEMMESSAGE<
