Help? - by Kender at Tue, 23 Oct 07 07:01:47 -0400 You asked the system to find help. The system found us. We are here to help. What do you and Alvyurin need help with? ... - by Jedditor Lebbisun at Tue, 23 Oct 07 15:11:24 -0400 dunno. Help - by Alvyurin Ekkatran at Tue, 23 Oct 07 15:20:21 -0400
Jedditor, you should know that doesn't really help.
Food - by Rekidk at Tue, 23 Oct 07 16:15:30 -0400 What is the extent of your magic? Is there any way to duplicate the food or to create fertile soil to plant seeds? The SystemDo you - by The Mirror at Thu, 25 Oct 07 12:39:12 -0400 Do you mean that you are seeing code appear that you can't trace? How complicated is the system? Could it write itself? looking in the mirror - by Jedditor Lebbisun at Thu, 25 Oct 07 23:39:21 -0400 interesting question. very interesting. is it even possible for a mind to write itself? is that how minds first came about? i dont know. regardless, while the system isnt a true intelligent mind, i believe parts of it wrote other parts. i also believe that my prodding it with questions has nudged it along the path of mental development and spurred more writing. System - by Toxic at Fri, 26 Oct 07 15:15:55 -0400 Is it possible to ask the system for information on its' creators? Or any information on its' history? The System - by The Mirror at Fri, 26 Oct 07 20:24:17 -0400 Could a mind write itself? Some philosophers would say yes. Jean Paul Sartre and other existentialist philosophers believed that we define ourselves and, in doing so, define our own realities. That if I, for example, choose to be an educated and ethical human being, I can work towards that goal and ultimately make it a reality. This is sort of like writing one's self, I suppose. Other philosophers, like determinists, would say that any kind of self creation is impossible: that our identities are dependent upon our environments and biologies, and that reality is the result of nothing more than cause and effect. Hypothetically speaking, a computer programed to amass information would continue doing so until it ran out of electricity or broke down from age, right? And if that computer was also programed to find increasingly effective ways of communicating the information it found, it would become ever more linguistically adept. Not sure where I'm going with this, but it makes me want to know more about the System's conception, location, interface, etc. ... - by Jedditor Lebbisun at Sat, 27 Oct 07 04:09:15 -0400 it is possible to ask the system about its creators. but i dont think its helpful. try it yourself. creators - by thebruce at Sat, 27 Oct 07 23:41:56 -0400
Jedditor, we've tried... so far we've found it responds to 'creators' and 'creation', but I don't think it trusts us yet... we get an error:
